Paper and Paint

Its been quite a week here at my place,we have had so much rain and our outhouses were flooded ,we could have paddled a boat in our yard,the chooks we almost swimming but luckly we built them a luxury condo on stilts so they remained dry through out it all,anyways it seems to have eased for now but now they are predicting weeks of rain,so here we go again.

Now to more fun stuff,I have been printing my art out on the lazer printer which allows me to paint them,so Ive been doing some cut outs that can be used in my journals,this one is called the sisters..

These little Dears will soon be available in my Etsy store as a sheet for people to color in and cutout for their journals or cards etc or they will also be available already painted and cut out,check in next later next week to find them and others.

I have been experimenting with cloth and inktense pencils and have decided I like this mix very much,I made some sweet little doll thingies and will do more I think!

As always I have been brousing different artists and their work,I love to see what others create,its fun and inspiring,so this week I found an awesome artist called Peggy Johnston,you have to see this ladies work,she is a jewelry artist and her work is fantastic,I have added some pics of her work so you can see how clever and talented she is,also check her out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/jewelrycollectibles

Pen and Ink

Its been yonkers since my last entry,unbelievable how life just skoots on ahead of you isnt it!

Anyways Ive been sooooooooo busy painting,drawing and pottering in my clay studio,I have however returned to my first love,ink and watercolor,I just cant shake the love for these two mediums,they work so beautifully together and also stand alone quite well too,how could one not love to work with ink and watercolor.

I have finally gotten around to posting on Illustration Friday,which is a discipline I intend to keep up as I love that site,you will find the link to it at the right side of my blog near the top of the page,you have to go there and become a part of it,it will unblock you and enable you to create and become inspired.

Painting and miniatures

I have been working on a miniature paintings lately as well as some soft sculpture and ceramics,its been a wonderful creative year so far and I m looking forward to many more creative days this year.

I have begun another blog for my dolls and crafts and would love you all to have a peak and watch it grow,also I have updated my garden blog with pics of my latest challenges in my floral endevours.

Life is so full its hard to sweeze in everythign I want to do,Ive been making little books and decorating boxes,taking beautiful pictures,painting little piantings and making little frames for them and so much more,Ive joined a new art community and look forward to exhibiting once again,its been a long while since my last exhibit as Im basicaly lazey when it comes to exhibits,they are hard work and Ive not bee so motivated in this area,Ive just be happy to potter around and do my thing.

Im posting some pics of a 10 by 10 cm watercolor that I have finished this week,the little frame is hand made and decorated with sand,fibers and paper also I have added a pic of piece of wood I found in my hubbies shed and I just had to have it,I played around and Im happy to say that I love the end result as it reminds me of my garden,it now sits beside my bed and I enjoy it every morning.

Anyways I will keep this short and quick for today as it is geting somewhat late and I ve a lot to do before bed,see you all soon xox

Art comps and sketch books

Its been a hectic few months and remains that way as it is the time of the Seaside Festival and that means art comps,creativity and fun!

I have decided to enter in two sculptures and one painting,its so much fun to be a part of it all,I cant wait to see what every one else is doing,its such a creative high,love love love it!

I have also been working on my sketch books a lot,developing characters for art works though I must say that I often just love the rawness of the intital drawings and paintings,they have a looseness about them that cant quite be recaptured.

I have been trying out different watercolor pencils,mainly inktense colors which are wonderful,along with some sharpie pens and gel pens as well as Lumiere inks and indian inks,they all work so well together or alone.

New Year New Art

2010 is over and a new year has begun,Im looking forward to a very creative year with lots of new beginnings and lots of creativity.

This year I plan to cut loose,take risks,experiment and evolve in all areas of my life,this is the year to really live out loud and in full colour,woohoooo I am excited!

I will be blogging about other artists and their work and inspiration,I will posting my work and adventures,I will be bringing tutorials and videos that I make and videos of other artists at work.

I will update on books I read and the different tools and mediums that I will be using,this is going to be a wonderful year!

Tonight I would like to introduce a wonderfully creative friend Heidi M whose work is filled with colour, fun,life,expression and whimsy,her work just brings a smile to my face with every new piece that she does,I have posted her blog in my blog list of artistic friends so please go for a visit with Heidi she is a delight.

So what have I been up to lately,well Ive done quite a bit of ceramic work which I willpost after the final firing,also Ive been do a lot of journaling,drawing and painting as well as doing a few odd crafty things.
I have fallen back in love with sharpie pens and have been using the new sharpie pen fine point,its awesome for journals,it is clear, fine and doesn't run when wet,perfect for my moleskin and other fine and intricate art works,I love the way it can take water as I use a lot of wet in wet watercolour work when I do my journals and paintings,I just love sharpies.

I have also been designing some paper dolls to sell on Etsy as well as some tutorials to put on this blog for people to have fun with.Also this year I will be having regular give a ways of my art work and craft work.

Spring has sprung in my part of the world which is always a joy to behold,the sad thing is that it is followed by that hot and relentless season summer,that is when I will mourn my beautiful winter,still to celebrate spring with all her colour and beauty I have begun making my spring collection of jewelry.

I have been using both copper and silver,my silver designs are clean,simple and elegant with the copper designs being much looser and richer,I have been etching copper and will soon be implementing that into my designs.

I have decided to use a lot of folk lore and old wisdom to inspire my designs this season as I feel the need to reconnect with old ties and traditions.

My clay work has pretty much settled into a pattern,I have fallen head over heals in love with my wacky buttons and I am making them in mass amounts to sell locally and on line,also I have been working on jewelry/ring bowls,cabochons,pendants,beads,miniature sculptures,serving platters and some table ware.

Now that spring has arrived I no doubt will head out into the great out doors to do some visual or nature journaling,I missed doing it this winter so I will be overjoyed to get to it,hopefully a lot of inspiration will be born of it and some master pieces made.

I just wanted to share two of my favey artist..Ronald Searl and Danny Gregory,two of the finest..
Ronald Searl has been one of the big influences in my art life,I just love the humour that shines through his work,he is a delightful man with a huge talent that has been through so and come so far,who couldn't be inspired by the man,What a wonderfully inspiring man!!!

Also Danny Gregory,another huge inspiration in my life,he inspires me to keep drawing and journaling,no matter what he goes through he just keeps going and creating,his journals are fantastic,fun and so visually interesting,he has a great web site so Ill add the link for you you to follow and find inspiration.

I have started a fresh new blog and will more than likely closing the others down.
